Every morning, the students of Tumaini Tutor School walk miles from their homes, determined to make it to class. In the past, they have walked without proper shoes and with injured toes. For them, these aren’t just steps toward a classroom but toward a brighter future.
Elizabeth, age 16, says it best: "Now we look new and beautiful. Thank you for everything!"
These determined students need more than just their willpower. Families are responsible for school transportation, supplies, uniforms, exam fees, and other costs, all escalating after primary school. Just imagine covering these costs for multiple children on an income under $400 a year. Donor gifts mean access to education, and providing these things keeps them in school.
All are essential, but our “Uniform Lending Library" is fundamental. It allows students to borrow uniforms and shoes as they grow for free. Tumaini Tutor students take their next steps through the meaningful difference of access to a $50 public school uniform.
